It’s touchdown for GoMembership as we welcome our latest national governing body customer – The Irish American Football Association. The IAFA is recognized by the Irish Sports Council and the Federation of Irish Sports, and is affiliated to the International Federation of American Football (IFAF).
The IAFA is a volunteer-run organization with around 1,300 active members involved in the sport at various levels. American football is a rapidly growing sport in Ireland and has come a long way since its first ever game in 1942, when two teams of US servicemen played in front of an 8,000-strong crowd in Belfast. The IAFA's league has expanded rapidly in recent years and there are now 22 teams playing across three divisions. The IAFA are also working hard to promote and develop Flag Football, which is the non-contact version of the sport where tackles are made by pulling off a flag which is worn by all players.
GoMembership will manage and streamline all aspects of Member and Club Administration for IAFA as well as Event & Course Administration, Coaching & Qualifications, Online Payments and Member & Club Communications.
David Pring, GoMembership CEO says “We are delighted that the Irish American Football Association have chosen to partner with us. The team at IAFA have built a strong foundation for their sport and have ambitious plans for the future; we look forward to supporting them in their efforts.”
Brian Cleary, IAFA League Commissioner comments, “The IAFA are very excited to be partnered with Azolve and their GoMembership platform. This system will provide an effective and easy to use registration process for our members and clubs. The increased functionality will streamline the administration of the association and ensure the sports continued development into the future”.
